As one of the largest American banks dedicated to customer information security, EDG's primary goal of completing this project was to ensure the capability and stability of the center's data storage systems. Thus, technical work focused on establishing a system for stabilizing and monitoring the IT room. The system hardwired the FM200 system, 24 hour air-conditioning, UPS and emergency button to a central control point, safeguarding the project in emergency situations. The success of this project was highly acknowledged by the client both for its ability to address and solve the security issues and the quality of fit-out acheived.
In addition to issuing a renovation challenge to meet growing outpatient service demands with reduced investment, this hospital desired to emphasize its historical context and supportive role in the community. Our design team took on this challenge by conducting an analysis of the overall layout and operational plans, reorganizing the space to optimize processes and creating interactive displays of the hospital’s milestones. This project involved the layout optimization and renovation of a historical building.
Inspired by a mother’s special role as a care-giver and the promise of new life, our design team chose to create an environmental theme based on the symbolic beauty of flowers. Combined with careful layout planning and attention to detail, the space offers a pleasant surrounding for both patients and staff during this important period.
A project of the Japan Shinagawa Medical Group and located in plaza 66 Shanghai , this high-end medical cosmetic and ophthalmic institution acts as the platform for the Group’s traditional treatment processes catered for the Chinese market. Sensitive to this setting, our design team created an environment that is appropriately elegant for its guests. The ophthalmic center is divided into two separate areas: examination and surgery. This split allows for an undisturbed circulation of activity, while the elegant wall elements express a uniquely high-end feel.
As a specialized hospital dedicated to state-of-the-art eye care and treatment, our design team emphasized the role that color, form and patterns can play in inspiring its primarily youth patients. To identify appropriate elements, our Chinese and Japanese designers collaborated to compare fashion trends and generational attitudes towards their interior settings, resulting in the hospital design receiving the 2nd in the 2008 Good Design Award.
Part of ACC’s China operations and located in Shanghai’s Ruijin Hospital Luwan branch, this health center was schematically designed by Perkins Eastman, while edg was contracted for the MEP design, interior design development and construction drawings. Covering 3000sqm, the space consists of 4 floors which include: accelerator equipment, a reception, clinic, cashier’s desk and administraive area, CT, MRI, digital mammography, B ultrasound equipment and secure area, and a chemotherapy area. The design concept reflects advanced process planning and improved work efficiency by meeting the domestic regulations for healthcare and fire-protection. In order to create a warm and comfortable environment for patients, the material and color selection is different from traditional hospitals. Large aneas of dark cherry wood finishes, warm maple floor in chemotherapy area and bright & warm colored sofas in the waiting area achieve this. edg completed the construction work on time and to a high degree of quality, while managing the cooperation of numerous vendors, including: civil, shielding, sewage treat-ment, elevator, medical treatment, medical equipment, electrical, furniture and fire safety.
